Note: Your results may vary! Please experiment on some scrap before trying this on something permanent. Also, this technique may not be suitable for surfaces that are expected to take abuse. I use it primarily for superficial work, but many viewers have had success on light-duty furniture.
Regardless, a satin clear coat is recommended for added durability. It may also help in the case that your stain is still tacky after several days.
Some stains are thinner than others and may bead up when you try to brush them on. I've handled this by doing the following:
1. Brush on the stain. 2. Hit it with a hair dryer for 10-15 seconds. 3. Brush again. 4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until the stain starts to thicken.
