Step 1: lightly sand the edges of the frame, using fine (240/300 grit) sandpaper Step 2: clean the frame and remove sawdust Step 3: apply 2 thin layers of spray paint, making sure to cover the edges of the frame well. If you are not using a 2-in-1 spray paint, it is recommended to prime the frame first. Step 4: after paint is completely dry, apply 2 more light coats of spray paint Step 5 (optional): for a shabby-chic look, use sandpaper or an electric sander to distress the edges of your frame
