My dad passed away unexpectedly in October at the age of 88! He left his life time hobby of stamp collecting behind from all over the world. He has been collecting since a young man in Portugal and I remember him selling part of it to make money to come to Canada. I was 10 years old then, that's 52 years ago! I do not collect. He had told us that at 1/3 book value his collection was worth about $30000 CAD. I just wanted to find someone local to make a decent offer and take it all to help my mom! I know she would be happy with a third of that ($10000), that's now 1/6th the book value, to help pay part of her expenses!
