Where It All Started: Revisiting the Card Shops That Shaped My Collecting Journey

In this video, I revisit a few card shops in the greater New York City region that played a real role in shaping my collecting journey.

Village Baseball Cards in Carmel Hamlet and Dugout Dreams in Danbury, CT were shops I spent a lot of time in early on, back in 2021, when I was still figuring out what kind of collector I wanted to be and before this channel really found its footing.

I recorded footage at both locations, walked through their showcases, and made a few binder pickups along the way. This video isn’t about big hits or chasing cards — it’s about origins, familiar places, and how certain shops quietly influence the way we collect over time.

These places helped form my focus, my taste, and ultimately the direction of this channel.

If you have a local card shop that played a similar role in your collecting journey, I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
