American Shad are a popular late spring and early summer fishery on the Columbia River. Large numbers congregate below lower Columbia River dams and can easily be caught by bank and boat anglers. There is no limit and no fishing license is required to harvest shad. On this day I average 10-15 shad per hour plus hooked a King Salmon that made for an interesting start to the day.
