Jac is looking for three different groups of plants today—structural plants, floating flowers, and filler plants. She suggests choosing species that have smaller footprints, so they don’t overpower a smaller planting, and likes to think of plants in terms of their flower to foliage ratio. This means comparing the size of their flowers to the size of their foliage.
