Millie demonstrates an easy way of making a pot hanger using nothing more than a loop of cord!
Materials needed
Sash cord, cotton rope or synthetic rope (synthetic rope is less likely to rot but may be affected by UV). Adjust the length according to pot size and how long you want the hanging handles. For this 15cm diameter pot, Millie used approx. 180cm of rope.
Flat surface to work on
Pot plant!
STEP 1
White cord in loop on table
Tie the rope to make a loop and arrange it on a flat surface in the ‘boomerang’ shape. (Make sure that you use a knot that is secure and won’t work itself loose.)
STEP 2
Hands looping white cord on table
Holding the bottom section of rope, twist hand to form a loop.
STEP 3
Pot being placed on top of looped white cord
Place pot on the ‘X’ (where the rope crosses).
STEP 4
Hands looping white cord on table
Take the top strand and tuck it under the loop at the top of the pot…..
STEP 5
Terracotta pot sitting on white cord being looped and tied
….then pull the loop upwards.
STEP 6

STEP 7
Terracotta pot sitting on white cord being looped and tied
Grab the loops either side of the pot and stretch them out in a sideways direction from the pot. As you move outwards, pinch the sides of the cord below…..
