I cannot tell you how much joy this old Marauder Giant brought me to paint, especially after building the Mechanicum Battle Group models recently. This is the hobby I remember. The joy of building something simple, not needing pages of instructions, getting it painted up and being excited to get it on a tabletop! I snapped this guy up as soon as he was re-released for The Old World, it's a model I never got my hands on before and it was well worth the wait! Grumio will be joining my Orc army for The Old World, after ravaging my Dogs of War men for their uniforms...revenge shall be had!

Do you guys feel the same way? Do you miss the old days of simple models or do you prefer the ability to convert more with smaller pieces to build? Would love to know your thoughts and opinions, and I hope you didn't mind the rant!

Basing scheme:
AK Terrain Dark Earth texture paste
Ryza Rust (dry) brush
Ushabti Bone (layer) dry brush
Add tufts as desired

Here's how and why I prime the way I do!
Two different rattle/spray cans are used-one full solid coat of Chaos Black, and a lighter coat of Grey Seer sprayed from above to add light/dark areas. The lighter coating of grey seer adds a small amount of grit(too small for the eye to see) from above to give the contrast paint a better surface to cling too. Contrast paints don’t work well on black primers, the colours won’t show up well.
Here’s a short showing the process, if you have any other questions please let me know!
