Welcome to I’ll Knit (& Spin!) If I want To! I asked y’all to send in some of your questions (from everything from fiber arts, to designing and on!) so I could put together a little video for y’all every Friday doing my best to answer your questions!

In this week’s episode we cover:
1. I love your new Plumped Up cowl! However, I’m trying to knit down my stash and I don’t have enough yarn in just two colors to make either of the adult sizes. Could I make the cowl in 3 colors? One color for the main and then alternate two different CCs? Thanks so much for your fun and informative videos!
2. I've heard that it can be effective to make a hat when gauge swatching for a sweater, instead of making a flat swatch. Seems better since you get a functional item in the end! Would you recommend it? I'm casting on a Birch soon and thinking of swatching with a Stria hat.... Is that crazy? Thanks for your advice.
3. Hi Andrea! I've been knitting for nearly a decade now and want to challenge myself in 2025. What do you consider your most challenging patterns to knit? I mostly knit sweaters but would be interested in what you consider your most challenging pullover, cardigan, shawl, hat, etc. Thanks!

4. I have made two steeked cardigans, the Shiftigan for myself and Spice for my son, and I had the same problem with both. The steek column became wavy and bunched up so when I steeked, it seemed there was too much fabric there. I turned the steek under and whipstitched it so it looks ok but the edge of the sweater is very thick. I am wondering if this is a tension problem? Any ideas to fix this for my next steeked cardigan?

5 . I am just started knitting my second Weekender sweater. I did the ribbing ( US# 5) and joined in the round and have completed about two inches for sweater body…then realized I had forgotten to change to bigger size needles ( US #8 ). Do you think I should just frog it or if I can just make the needle change and continue? Will it make a big difference in the fit and look?
