Welcome to I’ll Knit (& Spin!) If I want To! I asked y’all to send in some of your questions (from everything from fiber arts, to designing and on!) so I could put together a little video for y’all every Friday doing my best to answer your questions!

In this week’s episode we cover:

1. Hi Andrea! I’m wondering if you can talk about short rows for creating space for a larger bust. I’m knitting a bottom up sweater and I’m realizing that if I don’t add some kind of allowance for bust it’s just not going to fit me right. Please help! Do I add short rows in the front? The back? Each side? Do I start with the longer short rows and narrow it down, or narrow getting wider? I don’t know where to begin. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

2. Hi Andrea, I have a question about lifelines. When you have placed a lifeline and then make a mistake, do you have to frog all your knitting back to the line to fix it? Or can you just drop off a few stitches down to the lifeline and somehow fix the error that way? Or does it depend on the error? Thanks for all your advice, I’ve learned heaps from you and always enjoy your videos (and patterns!).

3. I've often heard it said that unless otherwise specified, stitches are always slipped knitwise. But I've always been confused about how to slip stitches with an icord bindoff. From watching your demo, it looks like in this case they're slipped knitwise. Is that right? Would you be able to explain why? For some reason it confuses me either way I try with the icord bindoff!

4. I'm currently making your Pink Fizz pattern with Magpie fibers Swanky Sock and Feather. It's a beautiful knit fabric and I can't wait for the final result. When I made a ball, I balled up the two yarns together, but now that I'm knitting I'm finding that I'm knitting up the sock weight faster than the lace weight, and I'll have slack develop on the lace weight, resulting in tangles and knots. When I get to the end of this ball, I'll probably ball them up separately instead of together, but I'm curious if there is any knitting wisdom you have about knitting with two different weights. How do you normally handle it? Thanks so much for all your beautiful patterns and teaching!

5. I just finished my first brioche project using your amazing pattern The Feel Good Shawl. I'm obsessed! I was wondering if you could show how to style this shawl. I'm quite good at the just draping it over the shoulders and letting it hang method with this shawl ;), but can't seem to ever get the other method you have pictured with this shawl - with it all wrapped up cozy around the neck - to look right. Would love to see how it's done!
