Easter Egg pattern:
Cast on 8 stitches with the long tail cast on. Row 1: Purl all stitches Row 2: kfb until the end of the row (16 stitches on the needle) Row 3: purl all stitches Row 4: (k1, kfb) until the end of the row (24 stitches) Row 5: purl all stitches Row 6: (k2, kfb) until the end of the row (32 stitches) Row 7: purl all stitches Row 8-15: continue in stockinette stitch (knit all knits and purl all purls) Row 16: (k2, k2tog) until the end of the row (24 stitches) Row 17: purl all stitches Row 18: knit all stitches Row 19: purl all stitches Row 20: (k1, k2tog) until the end of the row (16 stitches) Row 21: purl all stitches Row 22: knit all stitches Row 23: purl all stitches Row 24: k2tog until the end of the row (8 stitches)
Break the yarn leaving a 10-12 inch tail.
Using a tapestry needle, thread the yarn through all 8 stitches and pull to draw stitches together.
Seam up the egg using mattress stitch ¾ of the length of the piece. Stuff with poly fill or scrap yarn. Finish seaming and thread the yarn through the stitches at the cast on. Draw tight and weave in any ends.
