This video is a bit longer as I managed to film three different techniques that will take your knitting skills further.
Firstly there's Old Norwegian cast on, which is a twisted cast on that's definitely worth learning as it gives a good, stretchy edge.
If you struggle with the purl stitch.. then knitting backwards might be the answer. I'll show you just how easy this technique is too. No more turning your knitting to do short rows or bobbles!
Finally how to knit Fair Isle without stranding across the back of your work. To do this No Strand technique you need to knit with both hands at once... but I'll show you that too.
I always knit Fair Isle in the round but for those of you who like to knit flat I've also put in the no strand purling technique. I was a bit rusty with it, but you'll still see how it's done.
All in all I've tried to cover the techniques I've picked up over almost 60 years of knitting! I hope you manage to learn something that helps you go forward in your own knitting practice.
I hope you'll enjoy learning these techniques and maybe incorporate them into your knitting too.
