Quick video tutorial on creating a paint effect of paint discolored by rust over time, fitting for post apocalyptic style costume, armor and props, Fallout cosplay and stuff like that. This effect can be made even more realistic with applied rust along the painted edges as well but I will make a longer, more in depth video about this technique as well and that one will cover it properly :) Buuut if you just want a quick how-to in less than five minutes, then this is my crappy cell phone footage made into a video just for you! :)
- Mustard used is regular mild mustard - and YES, almost any medium with same texture and properties will work as masking fx mayo, toothpaste and so on ;) - Yes, I am using an old sock as a rag - Spray paint used is Montana - MTN 94, Java green - Acrylics used is Liquitex heavy body acrylics - burnt umber
