LIGHT TACKLE FUN FISHING Following up on our last trip to Umkomaas, we decided to take the Dingy out and venture further upstream We were welcomed by hundreds of juvenile kobbies which is a great sign for things to come (we request all to release these fish for the future stock levels to increase). With the tide turning the guys decided to move around in search of deeper spots and drop-offs managing countless Kob and several Tarpon.
The sizes definitely increased towards the latter of the session and the acrobatic Tarpon gave the guys a show to remember.
Once again McArthy soft plastics (jerk minnows) in 3 & 4 inches worked the best- river prawn and bronze back colours
With the Holiday season in swing, Umkomaas is a great spot to head off to and fish from the side or off a boat/paddle ski.
