Follow me from start to finish on a short session on a new water.

In this video, I’m on a short session, fishing a runs water for the first time, and I go through the complete setup I’d use if I was starting carp fishing today.

I explain the mechanics behind each decision (rods, reels, mainline, bait and rigs) so you can see why it’s effective and apply the same thinking in your own fishing. My rig and lead setup only use 5 components, and that’s all I need to catch carp.

For me, carp fishing isn’t about fashionable rigs, constant chopping and changing, or piling in bait. It’s about using a simple, proven setup that frees you up to focus on finding the fish and understanding the conditions.
